Tree limbs hang over Chestnut Street near Hamrick Avenue late Sunday afternoon.

Schools closed Tuesday: Houston, Licking, Plato (daycare closed), Success, Raymondville, Licking Head Start, Cabool Head Start. Texas County Technical College will start at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Cabool announced it would be in session.

Here are reported cancellations for Monday:

  • The Texas County Circuit Clerk’s office is closed Monday, Jan. 6,
    2025, due to inclement weather.
  • Due to severe weather and road conditions, normal operations on Fort Leonard Wood for Monday, Jan. 6, have been suspended for all personnel who are not critical and or essential.
  • No school today at Success, Summersville, Licking Head Start, Houston Head Start, Raymondville, Houston, Licking. (Cabool doesn’t attend on Mondays; Plato was not to return from its break until Tuesday).
  • All TCMH clinics in Houston, Licking, Mountain Grove and Cabool are closed today. Patients affected will be called on Tuesday to reschedule.
  • Texas County Library locations are closed Monday.
  • Trash service in Houston will not run Monday.
  • There will be no recycling today in the City of Houston.
  • Due to inclement weather, TCMH’s outpatient surgery clinic will be closed today as staff is unable to reach the office. Affected patients will be called Tuesday to reschedule their appointments.

Frozen Missouri and U.S. flags wrap around the pole Monday at Texas County Memorial Hospital. The flags were flying at half-staff following the death of former President Jimmy Carter last week.
