The National Weather Service said a winter storm with snow began early Friday and is covering southern Missouri.

“From the limited reports received overnight, snowfall amounts appear to be on track with the forecast,” the National Weather Service reported early Friday morning. “Nearly all roads in the area are snow-covered this morning. Snow will gradually end throughout the day from west to east.”
