Texas County 4-H Shooting Sports will host a safety class March 22 in Houston.

The event is at the Lone Star Annex at 114 W. Main St.

Classroom time runs from 9 a.m. until noon. Lunch is on your own from noon to 1 p.m.

A range time is from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Big Piney Sportsman’s Club at 18012 Highway B, east of Houston.

The class is mandatory for anyone new to shooting sports. A parent or guardian must attend the class and range time with participants.

ELIGIBILITY

Those ages 8-18 are eligible. You must be at least age 8 by Jan. 1, 2025.

DISCIPLINES

Participants must be age 11 for the shotgun program. The archery program is for those 8 and up. Small bore (.22 long rifle) and air rifle is for those 8 and up.

Enrollment can be conducted at v2.4honline.com.  After being accepted as an active member, sign up for project SS740-safety class.
