Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings Feb. 12 and 13.

Members:

  • Approved the Lynch Township road maintenance agreement.
  • Reviewed and acknowledged the hiring of Starlene Evilsizer as a full-time deputy collector/treasurer effective March 5.
  • Commissioner John Casey attended the planning commission meeting on Feb. 10.

In other business, commissioners heard from:

  • Sheriff Scott Lindsey that Austin Connelly’s “at will status” as a full-time jailer is “no longer needed” effective Feb. 4. Lindsey also informed the commission that he will proceed with insurance services for a patrol car damage caused by a deer.
  • Tammy Cantrell, collector/treasurer, who requested the removal of deceased taxpayers from tax rolls.
  • David Scantlin to discuss townships and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
  • An attorney as well as an IT provider concerning CPI issues.
