The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
- On Jan. 11, deputies were dispatched regarding a report of a domestic incident involving a 48-year-old man and his 19-year-old son at a Waters Road residence at Elk Creek.
The father told an officer he was home with his son, who asked him to leave. The man said he went next door to his parents’ house and his son showed up a short time later and slammed him to the floor twice and stated he was going to get a gun and kill him.
The man said his son left and he shut and locked the door. The officer reported observing no marks on the man.
- On Feb. 9, a 35-year-old Florida woman came to the TCSD office to retrieve a firearm that was being held as evidence.
After a computer check was completed to confirm the woman was eligible to possess a gun, the Glock 9-millimeter pistol (purple and black with flower designs) was released to her, along with multiple ammunition magazines.
- On Feb. 9, a 73-year-old woman reported that her 48-year-old son was missing from their Highway 32 residence at Licking.
The woman told a deputy that on the previous Wednesday, she and her husband had taken a nap at about 3 p.m. and when they awoke, their son was gone. She said they thought he might have gone to Walmart to buy gift cards to send money to his girlfriend whom he met online, who was allegedly a helicopter pilot in the military and stationed overseas.
The woman said her son had sold his pickup to get money to send to the woman, and that she believed he was being scammed.
Contact was made with the son’s former wife, but she told officers the last time she had spoken with him, he was at his parents’ house.
Investigation is ongoing.
- Donald L. Kinder, 59, of 7854 Blue Moon Rd. at Bucyrus, was arrested Feb. 4 for having an active Texas County warrant for felony charges of DWI – serious physical injury and DWI – physical injury.
A deputy made the arrest at Kinder’s residence and took him to jail. Cash-only bond in the case is set at $2,000.
