Area high school juniors and seniors participating in welding training programs are invited to register for Missouri State University-West Plains’ (MSU-WP) annual welding competition.

The competition is set for Feb. 28 at the Pace Industrial Science Center, 218 W. Broadway. Check-in begins at 8 a.m., and the competition will start at 9 a.m.

Students will be asked to participate in both a physical welding test and a written test, organizers said.

Scholarships, prizes and trophies will be awarded for first, second and third places.

Each competitor will receive a T-shirt, and lunch will be provided.

To register, visit WP.MissouriState.edu/Workforce, scroll down to the “Welding Competition” heading then click “Register Now.”

Participants must have a school sponsor or instructor register for them. Students who are homeschooled or who are not currently attending a high school should email TrevorCressman@MissouriState.edu for more information.
