A 22-year-old Houston woman was injured Sunday afternoon in an accident in Taney County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

A westbound 2015 Chevrolet Cruze failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a sign and a culvert causing the vehicle to overturn and come to rest into a rock embankment, said Msgt. S.D. Isringhausen.

The woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by ambulance to Cox South in Springfield after the 12:40 p.m. accident on U.S. 160 about two miles west of Merriam Woods.

The vehicle was totaled.

The patrol does not identify persons involved in accidents for fear information might be used in scams.
