Intercounty Electric Cooperative – a major electricity provider in Texas County – has issued a system peak usage alert for Thursday (Feb. 20) morning due to extreme cold temperatures, officials said.
The company has asked users to be mindful with electricity usage from 6 to 10 a.m. on Thursday. Suggestions include turning off non-essential devices and lowering thermostats a degree or two.
