Plans for the Emmett Kelly 5K Walk/Run are underway for April 26 in downtown Houston.

Check-in time is 8 a.m. The race starts at 9 a.m. from the Lone Star Plaza at First and Pine and also ends there.

The entry fee is $25 until March 31; $30 after April 12; and $35 until race day. A T-shirt is guaranteed if paid by April 12. A fun run for kids is $10 through April 12; and $15 until race day.

There is a $100 cash prize to the fastest female and male runners. Prizes also will go to the fastest female and male in age categories, including children.
