A Willow Springs man received moderate injuries Tuesday afternoon in an accident on U.S. 60, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Tpr. Chad Johnson said an eastbound 2005 Ford F-350 driven by a 49-year-old Willow Springs man moved from the roadway into the median to pass another vehicle and returned to U.S. 60, lost control and struck an eastbound 2004 Peterbilt and overturned. The big rig was operated by a 61-year-old Rosebud man.

The driver of the Ford, which was totaled, was taken by ambulance to Cox South in Springfield.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. The Peterbilt had minor damage, the patrol said.

On the scene just west of Mansfield were members of the Mansfield Fire Department, Mansfield Fire Department and Wright County Sheriff’s Department.
