On Dec. 31, 2024, the City of Summersville received notice from the Missouri Department of Economic Development’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program that its Phase I grant application for street improvements had been approved.

The award provides a total of $476,638 in funding for street improvements including street repairs, manhole and utility adjustments, new culverts and asphalt overlays on several streets within the city limits.

Smith & Co. Engineers from Poplar Bluff, Missouri are providing engineering services for the project. The South Central Ozark Council of Governments (SCOCOG) wrote the grant and will administer the project.
