A teen motorcyclist was seriously hurt Saturday when he struck a deer about 15 miles south of Rolla, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Tpr. Caleb Marlow said a southbound 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by the 17-year-old boy struck a deer, causing the driver to be ejected. He was wearing a helmet.

The Edgar Springs boy was taken by ambulance to Phelps Health in Rolla. The motorcycle was totaled.
