A red flag warning is in effect today for Texas County from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Afternoon humidity levels will dip into the 19-25 percent range while winds will likely gust above 30 miles per hour at times, the National Weather Service said.
This will bring significant to pockets of extreme fire danger to the area today, it said.
Persons should not do outside burning, it warned.
