Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings Feb. 19, 20, 26 and 27.

Members:

  • Approved a resolution urging the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) to add Shafer Road in Licking as a lettered route, and resume maintenance without delay.
  • Reviewed and approved a township maintenance agreement with Current Township.
  • Approved the naming of a private road as “Spring Branch Lane.”
  • Attended mandatory annual training and Presiding Commissioner Scott Long attended a South Central Ozark Council of Governments (SCOCOG) meeting.
  • Reviewed and acknowledged the resignation of Jeremy Wink as a full-time deputy effective Feb. 10. Wink is now employed by the Houston Police Department.

In other business, commissioners heard from:

  • Legal counsel concerning pending litigation related to a previous IT provider.
  • The Missouri State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) pertaining to flood plain development.
