The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
- On March 10, a deputy was dispatched regarding a report of property damage at a Dogwood Road residence at Mountain Grove.
The officer made contact with a 29-year-old man there who said his 35-year-old girlfriend had broken his vehicle’s windshield and front passenger’s side window, as well as a guitar. The officer observed scratches on the man’s face, which he said were caused by the woman.
The man provided video of the woman throwing a shovel through the vehicle’s passenger window. Upon entering the residence, the deputy observed pieces of a guitar on the floor.
The man then said the woman had used a knife that was leaning against his drum set to cut her wrists, and that she had been taken to a hospital in Springfield for treatment.
The man told the officer he didn’t want to pursue any charges against the woman.
- On March 12, a deputy was dispatched to Texas County Memorial Hospital regarding a dog bite.
The officer made contact with the victim – a 44-year-old woman – who said she was going to put the dog down when she got home and didn’t need any help from law enforcement.
- On March 1, a deputy was dispatched regarding a possible break-in in progress at a Highway 137 residence at Elk Creek.
The officer made contact with a 46-year-old woman there who said she oversees the property, which belongs to her father who is in a nursing home. She said that when she came to the property that day, she found that the house and several outbuildings had been broken into and ransacked, and that someone might still be in the garage.
The officer searched all of the buildings and didn’t find anyone, but did observe they were all ransacked.
The woman said she didn’t know if anything had been stolen. Game cameras were installed at the property. There are no suspects.
