One person was injured at noon Wednesday when her vehicle struck a deer on Highway 38, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Msgt. Justin Piccinino said a westbound 2009 Chevrolet Impala driven by a 28-year-old Hartville female struck the deer in the roadway about three miles west of Hartville.

The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. The vehicle had moderate damage.
