Progress was made on projects at softball fields and the Piney River Technical Center during a Thursday (Feb. 27) meeting of the Houston R-1 School District Board of Education. 

A task order for softball net design and planning as it relates to the construction of a four-pole net system for both Carter and Chamber fields was approved unanimously. 

Another for Piney River Technical Center (PRTC) floor plan and design as it relates to the $400,000 CTE Limited Access Grant the district received through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education was approved unanimously. The grant requires a 25% match from the district. 

Both task orders were from Bartlett & West Engineering – which has offices in Rolla.
