Several personnel decisions were made during a closed session meeting of the Houston R-1 School District Board of Education on Tuesday (March 11).
The board unanimously approved the following resignations:
- Jeff McNiell as graphic arts occupations teacher, district communications director and postsecondary adviser, at the end of the 2024-’25 school year.
- Tyann Nettleton as speech-language pathologist at the Exceptional Child Cooperative (ECC), at the end of the 2024-’25 school year.
- Sierra Keller as certified occupational therapy assistant, at the end of the 2024-’25 school year.
- Stephanie Barbagiovanni as curriculum, instruction and assessment director, at the end of the 2024-’25 school year.
- Joshua Kane as elementary teacher, at the end of the 2024-’25 school year.
- Jillian Adey as elementary teacher, at the end of the 2024-’25 school year.
- Sam VanDielen as band director, at the end of the 2024-’25 school year.
The board unanimously approved the employment of Kailie Kinder as speech-language pathologist at the ECC, for the 2025-’26 school year, and Dustin Altom as a middle school baseball volunteer.
The tenure list and certified contracts for the 2025-’26 school year were approved as presented. Noncertified and extra duty evaluations were discussed.
Director contracts were approved unanimously for:
- Samantha Courter, special education process coordinator
- Donna Crisp, food services director
- Kelsen Gilbert, technology director/systems coordinator
- Brent Hall, athletic director
- Jennifer Johnson, exceptional child cooperative director
- Dave Rust, maintenance and transportation director
