The National Weather Service is warning of an elevated fire risk today, March 2.
Pockets of elevated fire weather conditions are expected to develop this afternoon as humidity levels dip into the 25 to 35 percent range with wind gusts up to 20 mph.
An elevated fire danger means that weather and land conditions are favorable for erratic fire spread, if a blaze does start.
Firefighters were busy on Friday, including a large fire that sent multiple departments southwest of Licking.
