March came to a close and I celebrated my three years being the director of the Texas County Library.

This job has been my favorite out of all the jobs I have had in my 62 years on this Earth. I could not do it without all the terrific library staff and board.  I appreciate all the patrons I have gotten to know as well.  Thank you everyone!

The siding is going up on the new library and the carpet is being laid.  This is so exciting, and we love hearing from the community and all throughout Texas County about how excited you are too!  The question we get asked most is “when will the building be finished?” While there is no set date yet, we are hopeful that by the summer we will be able to start moving in.

For a $500 or more donation to the library foundation, your name can be placed on our donor wall as thanks for helping us achieve this wonderful dream.

Starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, bring the kiddos to meet the Easter Bunny at the Houston branch. Get a picture and an Easter egg treat.  The Cabool branch will have a “Secret Garden” party for all ages starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12. There will be crafts and story time, so hope to see you there!

The next adult book club meets at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Houston branch. All are welcome and come prepared to discuss a recent book you have read.
