“Carry the Cross” — the annual Good Friday event that unites Christians — is today across Texas County.

Here are details outlined by organizers:

  • Crosses should be at your location when you arrive at 7 a.m. If your cross is missing, message our page and it will be delivered as soon as possible. You may leave your cross at your location at 11 a.m.
  • Be safe. All vehicles should be off the roadway and shoulder. All participants should be away from the road a safe distance. If you are asked to move off a property or away from a business, simply thank them and do so.
  • No signs. No different crosses. We want to be uniform and united in the message of the cross. Simply make eye contact and wave and smile at passersby.
  • Take lots of photos and post them online with the hashtag #iwillcarrythecross
  • Send us reports of anything special that happens at your location.
