April celebrates National Library Staff.

Texas County Library has the most wonderful staff (but of course I am prejudiced). If you are a regular patron, you know this, but if you are not familiar, let me introduce our teams.

In Houston: Darnella Robbins, Del Hicks and Tiffany Davy.

In Cabool: Liza Cannon and Brenda Moore.

In Licking: Brandie Smith and Lee Ann Akins.

In Summersville: Kathie Cox and Diana Richardson.

I appreciate these employees so much.  Thank you team for all you do!

Mark your calendars for May 2 and 3.  The Houston branch is having a giant book and bake sale.  Plenty of books to choose from for all ages. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.  We are adding baked goods this year and will have some yummy items to choose from.  We have some wonderful volunteers and I want to thank them in advance for helping!  Please, cash or checks only and proceeds go to purchase new books for the library.

Saturday, April 12, the Easter Bunny hopped into the Houston branch and over 30 kids got photos and treats.  Thank you families for coming to see Mr. Bunny at the library.

The annual Summer Reading Program will start in June.  We are currently accepting donations to help with costs for this program.  Thank you in advance for helping us keep the kids reading over the summer!

The next adult book club meets at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 19 at the Houston branch. In May the date is Saturday the 17th. All are welcome and come prepared to discuss a recent book you have read.

Come check out these new arrivals: LARGE PRINT WESTERN SERIES BY Elmer and Steve Kelton: “The Unlikely Lawman”, “The Smiling Country”, “Six Bits A Day”, “The Good Old Boys” and “The Familiar Stranger”.

Friends of the Library needs Friends!  Ask how you can become a part of your local Texas County Library branch’s Friends Group.  Friends of the Library strengthens libraries’ presence in communities and helps them thrive through fundraising, volunteering, advocating and so much more.
