The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
- On March 26, a 43-year-old Bucyrus man reported an animal attack.
The man told an investigating deputy that on March 25, two dogs attacked a calf at his Highway ZZ property, and it later died. He said one of the dogs belonged to a 50-year-old neighbor man and one was unknown.
The man said he shot one of the dogs while the attack was in progress and followed it to the neighbor’s house. He said the neighbor did claim ownership of the dog, but they were unable to reach a civil agreement regarding damages, so he wanted the incident documented.
The dog’s owner said he put it down due to the attack.
- On April 6, a 25-year-old Houston woman reported that a white Kia Soul had arrived at her Iowa Road residence and a man got out and looked inside the house and at contractor materials in the yard.
The woman showed an investigating deputy video taken from a neighbor’s house that showed the vehicle passing by the house and then turning around and stopping there, and a man exiting from the passenger’s side, walking to the front door, and then leaving without taking anything.
The woman provided a photo showing the license plate of the car but attempts to locate it were unsuccessful.
- On April 5, a 50-year-old woman reported that her 15-year-old son was missing from her Junction Street residence at Raymondville.
The woman told an officer that the boy was mad for being grounded and had run away to a Highway C residence at Licking, but when the officer went there, nobody was home.
She said the boy has ADHD, autism, ODD and is bi-polar, and he has fairly long curly brown hair. She said he was last seen on April 4 wearing a black hoodie, black sweatpants and black high-top sneakers, and he left at an unknown time.
