The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
- Robert A. Smith, 44, of 1246 Highway C in Norwood, was arrested on April 11 for having an active Texas County warrant for a felony charge of passing a bad check.
Deputies made the arrest at a Walnut Avenue residence in Cabool and took Smith to jail. Cash-only bond in the case is set at $2,000.
- Jesse L. Boyd, 44, of 12285 Steve Mill Road in Cabool, was arrested April 11 for having an active Texas County warrant for a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident with property damage exceeding $1,000, and misdemeanor charges of driving while revoked and no insurance.
Deputies made the arrest at Boyd’s residence and took him to jail. Cash-only bond in the case is set at $2,500.
- On March 28, a deputy was dispatched to Intercounty Electric in Licking regarding a report of property damage.
A man who works for the company told the officer a meter at a Reed Road residence had been destroyed by renters who left. The man said the incident was the first of its kind at the address, but a neighboring residence has had several meters destroyed.
- Deputies were dispatched April 9 regarding a report of theft at a Heritage Lane residence at Plato.
A 47-year-old man told the officers a storage shed on the property had been broken into and six boxes of Army-issued gear and many items of camping equipment with a total value of $10,614.73 had been stolen. He said a surveillance camera wasn’t turned on and neighbors didn’t have any video to share.
There are no suspects.
