Deputy’s report: Man reports trespassing incident

The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

• On April 3, a deputy was dispatched regarding a trespasser at a U.S. 63 residence at Houston.

The officer made contact with a 74-year-old man there who said a woman had been spotted on a camera at the location. A vehicle parked by a gate at the property prevented entry or exit. A computer check revealed it was registered to a Louisiana woman, and the man said she was a family member and he no longer needed assistance.

But deputies were dispatched to the same location a short time later because the man reported that the woman wouldn’t move her vehicle and was somewhere on the property and he wished to pursue charges.

The vehicle was towed, and officers searched for the woman but didn’t find her. The man called later to report he had located her and didn’t want any assistance.

• Libby G. Hannes, 20, of 11880 Hillside Road at Cabool, was issued a citation for driving without a valid license after a traffic stop on Highway MM at about 12:21 a.m. April 7.

A deputy made the stop after observing a white Mercury sedan making multiple lane violations by crossing the center line on the highway.

Hannes was given a verbal warning about the lane violations.

• On April 12, a deputy was dispatched to Texas County Memorial Hospital regarding a report of a dog bite.

The officer made contact with a 28-year-old Bucyrus woman there who said her friend’s dog had bitten her 4-year-old son on the right hand. She said the dog had never done it before and she didn’t wish to pursue charges.
