A Rolla man is charged with felony unlawful possession of a firearm following reports of shots fired on Oak Hill Drive, authorities said.

The Texas County Sheriff’s Department was called Tuesday to the 16000 block of Oak Hill Drive, where one person — Dwayne Quirin born in 1986  — was questioned. A county deputy reported Quirin first denied firing a weapon. Quirin later confessed and said he was discharging the firearm “to blow off steam.”

A criminal history check showed that the suspect was a convicted felon for back child support claim and had his probation suspended for an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge in November 2022.

Bond is set at $3,000 cash.
