Young hunters bagged 63 turkeys Saturday in the first day of the season, according to the Missouri Department of Conservation.
The breakdown in Texas County was: adult gobblers (56) and juvenile gobblers (7).
Top counties in the state were: Osage (75), Gasconade (70), Texas (63), Miller (61) and Franklin (56).
The season ends today. (Sunday, April 13).
