U.S. 60 east of Mansfield was closed Friday night after a tractor-trailer hauling cattle overturned.

Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said multiple secondary accidents occurred involving cars colliding with cows that escaped confinement.

Multiple cattle were reported killed, the patrol said.

One person received moderate injuries, the patrol said. A 57-year-old male from Springfield was driving a westbound 2021 Chrysler Voyager that struck a cow in the roadway. He was taken by ambulance to Cox South in Springfield, said MSgt. Justin Piccinino. The vehicle was totaled.                                                                                                        `
