An area woman faces a felony charge after a Texas County Sheriff’s Department deputy allegedly found a syringe containing methamphetamine in her purse.

Jody M. Folsom, 28, of 803 Missouri Ave. in West Plains, is charged with possession of a controlled substance (a class D felony).

According to a deputy’s report, officers were dispatched April 20 regarding a trespassing call at a Highway B residence near Houston. While on the way, officers were advised that the suspect, Folsom, possibly had a knife and was walking toward the Sleepy Hollow Trailer Park.

Folsom was located walking along the highway, and reportedly told an officer that another woman was jealous of her doing laundry. During the process, four syringes were found in Folsom’s purse, one containing a clear liquid that tested positive for meth.

Folsom was taken to jail. Cash-only bond in the case is set at $1,000.
