Barbara Jean Palmer, 78, of Decatur, Arkansas, passed away on May 12, 2025, at Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born on Oct. 10, 1946, to Hershel O. Stark and Grace I. (Crabtree) Stark, of Raymondville.
Jean was a Houston High School Graduate from the Class of 1964. She married Paul Palmer Sr. on Nov. 15, 1969. She worked at the HD Lee company in Houston. They then moved to Indiana and worked for a short time before settling with their family in Decatur, where she worked for the Peterson Farms chicken plant as an office manager. She left there to pursue a career as a team truck driver alongside her husband for almost 15 years.
She is preceded in death by both her parents, two siblings, Hershel Dale and Grace Ethel; brothers-in-law, Leslie Palmer, Russell Sisco and Mike McLaury; sister-in-law, Georgia Stark; and daughter-in-law, Connie Palmer of Decatur.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Paul Palmer Sr. of Decatur; three sons, Paul Palmer Jr. and wife Stacey of, Arkansas; Jason Palmer of Decatur and Danial Palmer and wife Chelsea of Decatur; her siblings, Ernie Stark of Humansville, Missouri; Mary Palmer of Raymondville; Nancy McLaury of Mountain View; Pat Sisco of Licking; Sue Breedlove and husband Keith of Lynchburg, Missouri; Ricky Stark of Raymondville; and Faye Wallace and husband Bobby of Licking. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Chase Palmer and wife Hannah of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; Emma Palmer of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Quinlyn, Mary, Lillian and Imogen Palmer of Decatur; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were May 19, 2025, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. She was laid to rest in the Decatur Cemetery in Decatur.
