In its latest report, the Cabool Police Department listed a range of activities, including traffic stops and responses to local incidents.

The department reported 21 traffic stops resulting in 18 summons issued. One warrant arrest was made.

At 11:52 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, a driver of a 2019 Dodge was traveling north on Zimmerman Avenue when it struck a deer, officers said. No injuries were reported.

On Saturday, May 10, officers responded to U.S. 60 and U.S. 63 to watch for a black Ford Taurus with Tennessee license plates driven by a female who allegedly fired a shot at a vehicle in West Plains. Officers located the vehicle traveling west on U.S. 60, conducted a traffic stop and took Porsha L. Smith-Ford in custody. A firearm was recovered from the vehicle and she was transported to the Howell County Jail.

In total, police handled one accident, one alarm, six animal complaints, two civil matters, one impaired subject incident, one juvenile matter, three mental instability incidents, three peace disturbances, one property damage/vandalism incident, two stealing/theft incidents, assisted other agencies six times and assisted the public twice.

The fire department was dispatched 12 times.
