Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings May 14 and 15.

Members:

  • Held a meeting with the county clerk, collector, recorder, assessor and assessor-elect to discuss Missouri RSMo 137.1050, pertaining to the Senior Tax Credit.
  • Commissioners Ross and Casey attended a Planning Commission Meeting on May 19.
  • Reviewed and acknowledged the transfer of Shannon Harris from the assessor’s office to the collector’s office effective July 1. The collector/treasurer spoke to the commission about a part-time position in her office.

In other business, commissioners heard from:

  • Grant Wilson, Congressman Jason Smith’s office, on county matters.
  • Linda Bradford about roads and a bridge in Pierce Township.
  • Paul Foeller who called with questions about the Senior Tax Credit.
  • Mary Ellen Higashi concerning township issues and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reimbursement.
