A Houston man was injured when his vehicle ran off U.S. 63 and struck a rock bluff, returned to the roadway and overturned on Friday night, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Tpr. Nathan Bogart said the man’s 2006 Subaru Forester was totaled.

The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries following the 6:15 p.m. accident.

The wreck closed one lane of U.S. 63 near Oakdale Road and sent four other troopers and the Houston Rural Fire Department to the scene.

(The name of the driver was not released. The patrol no longer posts that information, saying it might be used in scams)
