The 40th annual Licking Chamber of Commerce Rodeo is set for this Friday and Saturday (May 30-31).
Action starts at 7 p.m. both nights and the gates open at 5:30.
The stock contractor will again be Outlaw/5J Rodeo Company of Curryville, Missouri, and Chris Pyle, of Pilot Grove, Missouri, returns for his 19th year as arena announcer.
This year’s Barrel Man and Clown is Sedalia resident Blake Potts, and the Specialty Entertainer is award-winner Amanda J. Payne of Shidler, Oklahoma.
FRIDAY
- Senior Citizen Night (1/2-price admission).
- Military Night (active free, retired or spouse ½-price).
- Goat Scramble (ages 5-and-under).
Large-screen TV Giveaway (sponsored by Rinne Tire Pros).
SATURDAY
- Pink Night.
- Calf Scramble (ages 6-11).
- Wild Horse Race.
- Large-screen TV Giveaway (sponsored by the City of Licking).
- Rodeo Saturday in downtown Licking will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with entertainment, crafts and food vendors.
- The annual Rodeo Parade will begin at 2 p.m.
Mutton Bustin’ for kids ages 8-and-under weighing 55 pounds or less will take place at 6:15 p.m. each night.
Tickets are $10, or $5 for kids ages 6-11. They’re available at Licking City Hall, JL Friend Lumber or at the gate.
