A 59-year-old Plato woman was seriously injured Friday afternoon in a Camden County crash on westbound U.S. 54 near Sunny Slope Road, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

She was driving an eastbound 2022 Toyota RAV4 involved in a chain-reaction accident that saw her vehicle struck head-on by an out-of-control vehicle. She was flown to University Hospital in Columbia.

In all, five were hurt in the accident, including a 46-year-old female from Richland who was a passenger in the Plato woman’s SUV. She was seriously hurt and transported to Lake Regional Hospital at Lake Ozark.
