The library started May off with a wonderful Book/Bake Sale.

I want to thank all the volunteers and patrons that came in to purchase books and the yummy baked goods that our patrons, Friends of the Library and Library Board, contributed. The rain put a tiny damper on the day, so we have decided to leave the book sale going through Saturday, May 10. Come in and purchase a Texas County Library bag for $10 and fill it with as many books as you can. Books make great Mother’s Day gifts!

Annual Summer Reading Program will start in June.  The theme for the kids this year is “Color Our World” which will cover all things art. Registration will start May 31 and run through June 7. More details to come. We are currently accepting donations to help with costs for this program.  Thank you to those that have donated so far and for helping us keep the kids reading over the summer!

The next adult book club meets at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 17 at the Houston branch. In June, the date is Saturday the 14th. All are welcome and come prepared to discuss a recent book you have read.

Come check out these new arrivals.

FICTION: “Tough Luck” by Sandra Dallas, “The Book That Held Her Heart” by Mark Lawrence, “Shadow of the Solstice” by Anne Hillerman, “Dark Hope” by Christine Feehan and “Friends Indeed” by David Weber.
