A Shannon County accident Saturday has claimed the life of a man riding a 2023 Can-Am side-by-side.
The death — of a 20-year-old man from DeSoto — occurred the following day at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Next of kin has been notified.
The accident on a county road northeast of Winona occurred when the vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned. Three other persons were injured, ages 18, 18 and 24. They were from the St. Louis area.
It was the 11th fatality in Troop G this year; compared to four at the same time in 2024.
