The Texas County Sheriff's Department was called to handle a variety of investigations.

Amber D. Kirk-Seilhan, born in 1988, of Route 17 in Summersville, is charged with possession of a controlled substance (a class D felony).

On May 5, a deputy responded to the Sinclair gas station in Summersville after a Shannon County officer reported having a woman in custody who had an active Texas County arrest warrant. Upon arrival, the deputy identified the woman as Kirk-Seilhan.

She was arrested for the warrant and taken to the Texas County Jail. Before entering the jail, the deputy asked Kirk-Seilhan if she had any controlled substances with her. She said she did and handed over two plastic bags, one of which was full of methamphetamine while the other had meth residue inside.

Cash-only bond in the case is set at $3,500.
