The Houston R-1 School District board of education made several personnel decisions during a closed session meeting on Tuesday, May 27.
The following resignations were approved unanimously:
- Jody Miller, paraprofessional and substitute nurse, at the end of the 2024-’25 school year.Â
- Alexis Hunter, paraprofessional, at the end of the 2024-’25 school year.Â
- Cason Popham, archery instructor, at the end of the 2024-’25 school year.Â
The following employments were approved unanimously:
- Tina Cox, as elementary teacher, for the 2025-’26 school year, pending a background check.Â
- Jason Holladay, as elementary special education teacher, for the 2025-’26 school year, pending a background check.Â
- Dara Jackson, as CRT trainer at the Exceptional Child Cooperative, for the 2025-’26 school year.Â
- Jamie Taylor, as Houston Alternative Learning Opportunities (HALO) paraprofessional, for the 2025-’26 school year, pending a background check.Â
- Brandon Miller, as paraprofessional, for the 2025-’26 school year, pending a background check.Â
- Shane Pitts, as elementary assistant principal, for the 2025-’26 school year, pending a background check.Â
- Misty Carr, as paraprofessional, for the 2025-’26 school year, pending a background check.Â
Board member Jeff Gettys was absent from the meeting.
