Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings May 28 and 29.

Members:

  • Reappointed Dala Whittaker to the Texas County Library board.
  • Approved a Sherrill Township contract.
  • Commissioner Robert Ross attended a quarterly meeting for Ozark Action Inc.
  • Reviewed and acknowledged the resignations of Zachary Cooley as full-time deputy effective May 21, Corey Stinson as full-time jailer effective May 7 and Anthony Hagen as full-time jail deputy effective May 30.
  • Reviewed and acknowledged the hiring of William Kirn as full-time jailer effective May 28.
  • Sheriff Scott Lindsey and Chief Deputy Rowdy Douglas met with Bill Bridges, Texas County Memorial Hospital chief executive officer, to discuss inmate medical care.
  • Reviewed and acknowledged the transfer of Shannon Harris from the assessor’s office and Paige Feith for a part-time position effective June 11. Feith will become full-time on July 15.

In other business, commissioners heard from:

  • Ross Richardson concerning State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) flood plain information as well as flood plain insurance in the county.
  • David Scantlin on Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) progress.
