A Raymondville man faces a pair of felony charges after an incident in mid-March in which he allegedly brandished a pistol while he was drunk.
Grant L. Lewis, 29, of Farrell Lane in Raymondville, is charged with unlawful use of a weapon – exhibiting, and unlawful use of a weapon – while intoxicated (both class E felonies).
According to a report, a deputy was dispatched March 17 after 911 dispatch advised that a man who had too much to drink was fighting with his father at a residence in Raymondville, and that a gun was involved.
The officer reported finding the gun – a Luger .22 caliber pistol – underneath a couch in the residence. The gun and four ammunition magazines were taken as evidence. Two of the clips had 10 rounds in them, while another had nine and the other had three.
One person at the scene told the officer Lewis had been drinking beer, and another said he had been waving the pistol around while stating he was in charge of the house. A portable breath device indicated Lewis had a blood alcohol content of 0.124%
Lewis was charged on June 6. Cash-only bond in the case is set at $1,500.
