An inmate at the South Central Correctional Center died Tuesday morning, the Missouri Department of Corrections said.
John Freeman, 23, was pronounced deceased at 12:17 a.m. at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.
He was serving a seven-year sentence for two counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of resisting arrest, four counts of first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, two counts of attempt of stealing a motor vehicle, one count of leaving the scene of an accident, one count of stealing over $750, one count of property damage and one count of fraudulent use of a credit card out of St. Louis County.
He had been in prison since September 2021.
An autopsy will be conducted, authorities said.

No mention of the sadness of this death. Only wanting his life story to be all about crime. This young man entered the Department of Correction when he was barely a man, 19 YEARS OLD. No mention of the family who loved him. Or possibly the family he never had. Despicable! Clean up your own backyard before you trash an offender who is now dead. Most likely due to the staff that was responsible for his safety.
He gotta family that loves him and couldn’t wait for him to get out!!! Soon as we get the autopsy we will be pressing charges against this correctional facility since they were the reason for his death. I love you so much brudda and we gon get justice for you.
So sorry for your loss. Prayers and condolences to your family.

Herald Staff, if that is the best you can do as a journalist, you should do some self examination.
My son was murdered last year 4/18/24 the coroner ruled his death a homicide my son was not mentioned in no article in the newspaper robert jordan pliler he he mentioned serval tym for pc ,d
This is so sad and such a massive cover-up. This was my son‘s best friend. They were in constant contact with one another, and he died at the hands of the prison guards. I hope that LB‘s family sues the heck out of MODOC and get the justice they deserve for their brother/son/family member. He was such a loving full of life, sweet boy. All this article can do is point out his shortcomings, but I could write pages and pages of all the fun he and My Son and his sister had. LLJB 🕊️
