A Licking woman faces a pair of felony assault charges after a Texas County Sheriff’s Department investigation of an incident at her home on June 14.
Nicole E. Burks, 33, of Whitlock Road in Licking, is charged with two counts of domestic assault – third degree (a class E felony).
According to a deputy’s report, the officer was dispatched at about 7:35 p.m. regarding a domestic disturbance at Burks’ residence.
The officer made contact with a 40-year-old man and 68-year-old woman there who said Burks had assaulted each of them. A 7-year-old boy who was witness to the incident reportedly said Burks had started the fight by punching the older woman.
Burks was arrested and taken to jail. Cash-only bond in the case is set at $2,000.
