A Cabool man faces two felony charges after a Cabool Police Department investigation in late March involving his two young children.

Dwayne A. Yeager Jr., born in 1994, of Patton Avenue in Cabool, is charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child (a class D felony).

According to a detailed report, a CPD officer was dispatched March 26 after a woman reported that two children had reportedly showed up at her house and just walked inside and asked for food and water. The woman reportedly told the officer she didn’t know who the kids were or who their parents were, but the officer was familiar with them.

An in-depth investigation revealed that elementary school representatives had several concerns about the children, as did their grandmother.

The children, ages 8 and 9, were known to have dirty and smelly clothing, and were subject to bad hygiene.

Yeager Jr. was charged on June 6. Cash-only bond in the case is set at $2,000.
