Fatal crash

Troop G reported a fatality Sunday afternoon that killed a motorcyclist from Bunker, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

MSgt. Matthew Chastain said a northbound 2006 Honda VTX was attempting to pass multiple vehicles on Route 21 about two miles north of Ellington in a no-passing zone and struck a southbound 2012 Chevrolet Silverado head-on driven by a 21-year-old Ellington man.

The 52-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced deceased on the scene by Reynolds County Coroner Jeffrey McSpadden. The other driver was not injured. Neither was wearing a safety device.

Both vehicles were totaled. Next of kin has been notified.

It was Troop G’s 15th fatality in 2025 compared to nine at the same time a year ago. The patrol does not release names involved in fatalities, citing a risk of scams.
