A woman from Licking has been indicted by a Texas County jury on six charges, including felony possession of a controlled substance.
In an indictment made public Thursday, Diana M. Wilder, born in 1983, also is charged with receiving stolen property, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia – with prior drug offense, failure to register a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia – prior drug offense, failure to register a motor vehicle, operating with a motor vehicle without insurance and failing to have two red reflectors on the rear of a vehicle. Those all are misdemeanor charges.
A formal arraignment is July 15.
The indictment stems from a June 9 traffic stop by the Licking Police Department on Beth Street. During an inventory of the vehicle, a police officer discovered a black bag in a center console that contained a clear crystalline substance in a small black baggie consistent with methamphetamine, three hypodermic syringes, two cut straws and one broken glass smoking device with burnt residue, according to a report. A woman’s nylon stocking that was tied off on one end, consistent with a tourniquet, was also found. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine.
