Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings June 25 and 26.

Members:

  • Met with Eric Long, Marco representative, concerning a copy machine contract.
  • Approved new liability insurance through BPJ insurance.
  • Discussed a new program created by Clear Basin with Assessor Debbie James.
  • Reviewed and acknowledged the hiring of Waylon Bartlett as a full-time jailer effective June 27.
  • Reviewed unfunded Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) projects for Texas County.
  • Reviewed information concerning the potential transfer of municipal courts to the county.

In other business, commissioners heard from:

  • David Scantlin on Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) progress.
