Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings July 2 and 3.
Members:
- Reviewed several Senior Tax Credit applications.
- Reviewed the prosecuting attorney’s yearly pay increase pursuant to state statute.
- Kevin Painter, AirMedCare Network, gave a presentation on Air Evac services for county employees.
- Reviewed and approved the June 2025 back tax for real and personal property.
- Discussed purchasing a drone for the sheriff’s department.
- Reviewed a letter from the collector stating that Paige Feith no longer works in her office effective June 17.
- Approved a request from the collector/treasurer to remove deceased taxpayers from the tax rolls.
- The circuit clerk visited with James Huff, Simmons Bank, concerning bank accounts.
In other business, commissioners heard from:
- David Scantlin with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) updates and county township roads.
- Grant Wilson, Congressman Jason Smith’s office, on area matters.
- A citizen with concerns about Lynch Township roads.
- The post office concerning postage cost for the county.
