The Texas County Sheriff's Department was called to handle a variety of investigations.

The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

  • On July 4, a deputy was dispatched to a theft call at a Robertson Drive residence in Licking. The deputy made contact with a 38-year-old woman there who advised that the previous night her mother noticed that the woman’s purse was outside, and upon inspection, the woman noticed her wallet was missing loose change and two Walmart gift cards. At the time of reporting, no evidence or leads were available regarding potential suspects.
  • On June 25, a man from Licking reported that someone had felled a tree on his property, and it hit his neighbor’s mailbox. The man stated that he was unaware of who felled the tree and was concerned that the neighbor would blame him due to a recent property dispute. He did not wish to pursue charges and did not want deputies to investigate the incident.
  • On June 16, a deputy was dispatched to a theft call at a Sand Shoals Road residence in Houston. A 53-year-old woman said that a security camera and lawn mower were missing from her property when she came home June 12. The mower is valued at $4,200. Investigation is ongoing.
