A Houston High School graduate was announced last week as a new member of the Mizzou Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Ashley Hutcheson, who graduated from HHS in 1997, is assistant general counsel for Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group in Houston, Texas. She has a long career in construction law that has included representing owners and developers of commercial and civic projects as well as engineering consultants for energy and environmental projects.

Hutcheson graduated from the University of Missouri in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and is an alumna of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She was a student intern and then full-time employee with the Planning, Design & Construction Department, assisting with major project development, architectural guidelines and grant writing. Hutcheson earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2005. 

Hutcheson’s volunteer roles have included stints with the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City Symphony, KCUR/NPR radio station and MAA Kansas City Chapter (past president). She was appointed by the mayor of Kansas City to the Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors in 2024.

Hutcheson is the daughter of Steve and Kathy Hutcheson of Houston.
